HUG: Standards for Inter-Agency Communication and Engagement
Preamble: Our Foundational Principles
Humanity Unlimited Global (HUG) is dedicated to providing restorative presence and compassionate support to individuals navigating profound life challenges. Our work is rooted in the principles of Forensic Humanism and Narrative Fidelity. We believe that effective support is predicated on an unwavering commitment to truth; for HUG, truth is the essential foundation upon which all restorative work is built. Consequently, maintaining the integrity of our communication channels is a fundamental requirement for the efficacy of our mission.
Article I: Designated Purpose of the Response Centre
The HUG Response Centre and all associated digital intake channels are designated specifically for Authentic Human Need. Unlike immediate crisis intervention services, the Response Centre is designed for focused, restorative engagement.
To ensure our practitioners can provide the depth of attention required by our mission, all inquiries are processed within a standard 3–5 business day response window. This window allows HUG to allocate the necessary cognitive and emotional resources to each case with the forensic rigor it deserves
Article II: Communication Integrity Protocols
To maintain the efficacy of our response cycle, HUG requires that all communications through the Response Centre be authentic. HUG maintains a strict policy against Deceptive Simulation. This includes, but is not limited to:
- Impersonation for Testing: The use of agency personnel to impersonate vulnerable individuals, victims of crisis, or persons in distress for the purpose of “testing,” “auditing,” or “evaluating” HUG’s response protocols.
- Unauthorized Drills: The initiation of simulated scenarios or “test” inquiries through the Response Centre without prior, written authorization from HUG leadership.
- Non-Genuine Representations: Any communication that intentionally misrepresents the identity of the requester or the nature of the situation.
Such practices are recognized as a diversion of the dedicated resources and time allocated to our 3–5 day response cycle, undermining our ability to serve those in genuine need.
Article III: Stewardship of Resources
HUG views its capacity for presence—the emotional, cognitive, and temporal energy required to engage with a person—as a vital organizational resource. Every inquiry received within our response window requires a commitment of these resources. We hold a professional responsibility to ensure that this capacity is not diverted toward non-genuine or simulated scenarios, which compromises the integrity of the restorative work we perform for our clients.
Article IV: Monitoring and Administrative Action
HUG employs professional monitoring to identify patterns of non-genuine intent and to ensure the integrity of our intake process.
Good Faith Provision: HUG recognizes that individuals may occasionally provide incomplete, inconsistent, or confusing information during a period of transition or difficulty. Our administrative actions are strictly reserved for instances of documented, intentional, and systemic deceptive communication.
Upon the identification of non-genuine or simulated inquiries, HUG reserves the right to:
Terminate the Session: Immediately cease the current communication.
Conduct a Partnership Review: Flag the incident for internal review to determine the continued eligibility of the originating agency for future collaborative engagement.
Restrict Channel Access: Temporarily or permanently limit the agency’s access to the HUG Response Centre.
